Ensuring Your Boss's Success

What happen if your boss's work is under perform and you get the rap...?

Today I tried to let my big boss aware that for the past 2 papers, it were written by HIM.  I had tried to ammend it but HIM had rejected my work....  Thus the outcome was HIS "original" work was submitted.  But then when the comments came back, it seems to be directed to me that I did not do a proper job...

Why is it boss are always right...?

So when I feedback to my big boss, his reply is...  "You as his subordinate, should check on him and make sure all work are done correctly.  If he does not looks good, you also do not look good.  period."

So what did that means.....  Double dose of NTS.

The Lego and The Nose

As with every other day, I return home from work and interact with my children, Nicholas asked me to look at his nose.  I did not immediately attend to him as I am going thru Linus's schoolwork.  Nicholas reminded me again.

I went to look into his nose and to my great surprise, I saw a round object (looked like a Lego piece) was stuck inside his nose.  I tried to "dig" it out, but he felt painful.  Worried that the Lego would went down into his lung, I immediately drove him down to NUH children emergency department.

As it was an urgent case, we had the priority to see the doctor first.  Much to our relief, the doctor managed to take the Lego out without sedating Nicholas.

This event was the worst thing that can happen....  Never before my heart was feeling so terrible.  I could really felt the worried and fear that almost drown me...  The stress nearly made me collapse.

Hope that Nicholas would be more sensible.  This was his second major incident.  The previous case he was scalded by hot water from neck down to his body.  He develop a fever and had to stay in the hospital.

As I typed this, my heart still had not settle down.....  my innocent Nicholas still asked if his Lego will be returned from doctor and bring home to play.....

Year 2007

Year 2007 is coming to an end in about six hours time.  It is indeed a very eventful year for me in both workplace and family.

This year I had changed 4 "jobs" and had 4 bosses...  That means on average I work about 3 months at each job.  To be more specific, it should be Appointment.  It was supposed to be a straight and direct kind of posting from Appointment 1 to Appointment 4, but somehow the management got me posted around and finally ended up at the original place...

Looking back at workplace, it may be very tiring and hectic, I somehow found it fruitful and a sense of achievement.  Maybe if my boss did not push me hard enough, I may be still stagnant in one area.  I had also learned a few ropes from my boss.

This year, in my family, I had created another family member which will be joining us soon on 15 Jul 2008 (EDD).  It was the least expected family member to join us and it was indeed a major decision to accept the fact.  I took some time to accept it...  Will post again on this event to jog down my thinking.....

Why like this?

"Why is your worker sitting there idling? When I ask him why is he not working, he told me there is no workstation for him to use.  Do you think it was right for him to sit there idle through out the day?  What if I ask you to come early in the morning and sit there doing nothing ".  This was the greeting I got from my boss this morning (17 Dec 2007).  I did not response to his queries.

It was indeed a true fact that there were not enough workstations for all the workers to work at the same time.  Without asking the guy why was he idling, I had already knew that some one would sit there doing nothing.  There was limited resources to be productive and also to ensure all workers are gainfully employed.  Furthermore, if I asked the guy to do other thing, it will also be wrongfully employing him...

No much of a solution...

My First Posting

As the title suggest, this is my first posting.

It had never been my interest, habit, culture, or any other form of abnormal behaviour that writing will be part of my life.  In fact, it had never been.

Since school days, my writing is short and bad.

It was only recently that my current job had make me write, write and write.

Thus I had started this blog, with the inspiration from my ex-BIG BOSS, to blog down some of my brain juice before it faded away.
